This little country has me surrounded by some of the most beautiful wedding venues in the UK like the magical Drenagh Estate Limavady and the prestigious Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort which I'm both proudly associated with and recommended by.

I capture probably around 40 weddings per year at Galgorm and I can honestly say that I never get bored of this wedding venue. You’ve got the river Maine for perfect picture backdrops, the iconic swing seat, Galgorm’s famous heron who sits by the river, the most beautiful chandelier garden, various arches to be photographed at, sweeping lawns on acres of grounds, serenity spa steps with stunning century-old cypress trees mirroring it. Every season there is something different happening and unique to Galgorm Weddings. For example, many couples book their wedding at Galgorm in late May for the stunning blooms of the giant rhododendron or maybe you would choose February hoping that there will be snow on the stunning grounds.

If you book your wedding at Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort you will honestly have the most stunning sublime wedding photography backdrops. At Galgorm you have three wedding venue options.
The first is the Great Hall for your wedding. Second and probably most popular is the modern and sumptuous Renaissance Suite with picture-perfect views of the waterfall at Galgorm. Third but by no means, the least important is the Four Season Suite, and is perfect for a smaller wedding up to 100 guests. Then you have a choice of two ceremony rooms, The ever-popular ‘Phantom House’ which was an old turbine mill and now hosts civil partnerships, marriages, blessings and humanist ceremonies. The other is the ‘Ghost House’ and it would be in my opinion suited to a more modern bride and groom or couple. You could almost say it has a Scandinavian style to it with its airy light structure. Something new and possibly a little different is having your ceremony outdoors in a fairytale setting in lush greenery beside the banks of the river Maine.

Kris Dickson Photography actually photographed the very first wedding at Drenagh well over a decade ago. Kris is originally a native from Limavady but he is now based in Ballymoney where he has a studio where you can see many examples of past Drenagh bride and grooms and other couples.

Where do you start at Drenagh estate… Beautiful Georgian house suited on rolling landscapes, surrounded by oak trees, awe-inspiring views of Binevenagh mountain and a well-kept secret of the Roe Valley. The iconic feature that Drenagh Estate has is the Japanese ‘moon garden’ where all outdoor ceremonies take place. You can either say your vows at the steps or if you’re feeling more ‘Out There’ you can have it at the circle part itself for your wedding ceremony. From Wisteria clad walls, lavish areas of Bluebells in May, ionic columns, picturesque barns Drenagh just has it all for your wedding photography. Drenagh House and Estate is probably currently Northern Ireland’s most sought after wedding venue.
